Ready for Homeownership?
You could be eligible for up to $10,000 in down payment assistance from the Village of Hazel Crest. South Suburban Housing Center is happy to partner with Hazel Crest to administer this program’s application, counseling, and education.
Grant Requirements:
- Property must be located in Hazel Crest, IL
- Five-year forgivable grant
- Conventional financing and participating lenders only
- Primary residence, one-unit properties
- Cannot own other residential real estate at closing
- Funds are limited– first come first serve
- The grant amount is based on household income (see AMI chart below)
- Applicants must complete SSHC’s Homebuyer Education Course and Home Purchase Counseling

- 60 – 80% AMI: $7,500 Grant
- 80-120% AMI: $5,000 Grant
